The RUNNING ONCE DERBY is a collaborative piece by KUSNEUF and COLORCOLLA, developed through an extended process of experimentation and craftsmanship.
Rooted in KUSNEUF's philosophy of finding perfection in intentional imperfection, the shoe embraces the beauty of time, wear, and transformation.
クスネフとカラーコラが長い時間をかけ、試行錯誤を重ねながら製作したコラボレーションモデルです。
「意図された不完全さが完璧を生み出す」というKUSNEUFの哲学をもとに、時間の経過や使用によって生まれる変化、その中にある美しさを表現しています。

- Vegetable-tanned horse leather upper, selected for its natural texture and character.
- Garment-washed after construction to create a softened texture and naturally aged appearance.
- Intentionally curled upper edges, shaped during the drying process to evoke traces of time and wear.
- Layered leather midsole, built from multiple layers of solid leather to create a stacked, crepe-like structure.
- The layered construction provides cushioning while gradually developing its own shape and texture through wear.
- Hand-lettered "I WAS RUNNING ONCE" inscription on the outsole, designed to fade naturally with use.
- Natural cow leather applied to the front outsole, with a Vibram sole at the heel for durability and practicality.
- Natural cow leather lining and insole.

- 自然な質感と独特の風合いを持つ、ベジタブルタンニン鞣しのホースレザーをアッパーに使用。
- 完成後に製品全体をウォッシュ加工し、柔らかな質感と自然な経年変化を思わせる表情を表現。
- 乾燥工程でアッパーの端が自然に内側へ巻き込まれるよう意図的に仕上げ、長い時間を経たような風合いを演出。
- 厚い革を何層にも重ね、クレープソールのような積層構造に仕上げたレザーミッドソール。
- 重ねられたレザーが着用時の衝撃を和らげ、履き込むほどに自然な形状と質感へと変化。
- アウトソールには「I WAS RUNNING ONCE」の文字をハンドレタリングで施し、着用とともに徐々に消えていく仕様。
- アウトソール前足部には天然牛革、ヒール部分にはVibramソールを採用し、耐久性と実用性を考慮。
- ライニングとインソールには天然牛革を使用。

The words "I WAS RUNNING ONCE" refer to the life and movement of the horse from which the leather originates.
Hand-lettered onto the outsole, the inscription gradually disappears with every step.
Like a flower that blooms only to fade, KUSNEUF sees beauty in things that do not last forever.
What may seem unnecessary or imperfect to others becomes a form of expression through KUSNEUF's own perspective.
「I WAS RUNNING ONCE」という言葉には、「かつて私は走っていた」という意味が込められています。
革の原点である馬が、かつて走っていた時間とその痕跡を表現した言葉です。
アウトソールに手作業で描かれた文字は、歩くたびに少しずつ消えていきます。
花がいつか散るからこそ美しいように、永遠には残らないものの中にも美しさがあるとKUSNEUFは考えます。
誰かにとっては無意味で不完全に見える行為も、KUSNEUFにとっては一つの表現であり、アートの一部です。
